My dad just bought live resin for the first time at the recreational cannabis dispensary

Now that I’m in my 30s, my dad doesn’t feel awkward talking about using cannabis.

  • Even though he never quit consuming the plant, even during my childhood, he tried to keep it on the “down low” until I was much older.

It’s funny because I smelled it in the basement once when I was visiting him in his home while I was 16 years old at the time. I knew what it was because of my friend from school who smoked in his parent’s house, but I didn’t mention it to my dad until I was in my 20s. It’s nice being able to talk to him about cannabis because we share stories about different sativa and indica strains that we buy in our respective states. In my case, I have to keep my medical marijuana card active because that is all that is available at weed stores in my state. My dad is lucky because he can shop at recreational cannabis dispensaries without a doctor recommendation or card from the state. He doesn’t have to worry about compromising his security clearance at work by having a medical marijuana card, although he has to be careful about using fake urine for random drug tests. The last time I visited him I was amazed by what I saw on the cannabis dispensary menus online, especially the weed stores with cannabis delivery services. At the time I simply purchased cannabis edibles and a jar of flower buds, but nowadays they have an influx of concentrates. My dad purchased Sunset Sherbert live resin last week and he is blown away by the sheer potency of the effects. And when he said it’s only $50 a gram, I couldn’t believe my ears.
