Everything was so pricey.

Because I intended to use marijuana for medical reasons, I assumed that it would be similar to any other treatment a doctor provides.

  • When I spoke to the pharmacist, I thought she would do something akin to filling a prescription and provide me with the appropriate products.

Instead, the pharmacist told me what his recommendations were, but he informed me that I could purchase anything in the store that I wanted, and I could get as much as I wanted. As soon as I saw some of the prices, I knew I could not afford much of what was sold at the marijuana dispensary. I was extremely disappointed to learn that none of the marijuana products were covered by insurance. The pharmacist told me that since marijuana was not yet considered a medical drug, insurance was not yet willing to help pay for the marijuana products. Even the smallest of products were priced at $50 or more. If it had not been for the 20% off for first-time clients, everything in that marijuana dispensary would have been well out of my price range. I ended up purchasing a small bottle of cream for pain relief, as well as some capsules that were mostly CBD. Even with the discount, it was a bit more than I planned on spending. I felt okay with the expense because my hope that the capsules and the cream would help with my swollen joints made me feel okay about spending it. I do not anticipate returning to a marijuana dispensary in the near future due to the expensive products. I just hope the marijuana products I picked up will make me feel better about making such an expensive purchase. If not, I won’t be returning to the marijuana dispensary.
