Last week, they opened up a new medical marijuana dispensary in our area. Legal, medical marijuana laws had passed several years previously, but this was the first time they had a marijuana dispensary in our area. I had my medical marijuana ID card for three years now, and I was excited to go to the local marijuana dispensary instead of needing to travel 50 miles away. When I got to the dispenser, I had to put my medical ID card up to a small camera, and then wait for them to buzz me in. My husband, being my caretaker, had to do the same thing with his caretaker’s ID card. Once we got through the major hurdle of getting inside, I could ask for the help of one of their on-site pharmacist. I explained to the pharmacist about the pain I had going from my lower back into my legs, and I explained to them how my spine was slowly deteriorating. He showed me several products he had to help ease the pain and make it easier for me to walk. Driving 6 miles to this new marijuana dispensary was so much easier than driving 50 miles to the last medical marijuana dispensary that we use. Being able to drive a short distance and still get all the marijuana products that I needed made my life so much easier. My husband is happy to have a marijuana dispensary that is closer.
