My mom and dad bought me when I was 16 years old.
I drove the car everywhere, and my friends and I went up and down the country roads and all of us took the car into the city.
I thought I was king of the world in my car until the accident. My friends and I were on our way home from a pigskin game and there was a little bit of ice on the road. I swerved to avoid hitting a deer and I wound up in a ditch. The car accident wasn’t terribly severe, but it caused me to have PTSD for years after the accident, and every time I got into a car, I was worried and fearful. It became debilitating when I could not go somewhere. I felt nervous, anxious, and downright scared. It was causing me to have mild agoraphobia. I never wanted to leave the apartment if I had to get in the car. Eventually the doctor said Ineeded to address that problem, then he sent me to a psychologist. The psychologist recommended medical marijuana. He read some truly promising studies that showed medical marijuana to help with PTSD. I was willing to try anything at this point, because I did not want to live the rest of my life stuck in the house. The process to obtain a medical marijuana card took about 3 weeks, but the card lasts for a year. I only have to do the paperwork every other year and see the doctor every eight months. I can purchase medical marijuana from a number of authorized retail stores close to my home.
