Medical marijuana helped me after the accident

He read some very promising studies that showed medical marijuana to help with PTSD.

My mom and dad bought me a car when I was 16 years old. I drove the car everywhere. My friends and I went up and down the country roads and we took the car into the city. I thought I was king of the world in my car until the accident. My friends and I were on our way home from a football game and there was a little bit of ice on the road. I swerved to avoid hitting a deer and I wound up in a ditch. The car accident wasn’t terribly severe, but it caused me to have PTSD for years after the accident. Every time I got into a car, I was worried and fearful. It became debilitating when I couldn’t go anywhere. I felt nervous, anxious, and downright scared. It was causing me to have mild agoraphobia. I never wanted to leave the house if I had to get in the car. Eventually the doctor said we needed to address that problem. He sent me to a psychologist. The psychologist suggested medical marijuana. He read some very promising studies that showed medical marijuana to help with PTSD. I was willing to try anything at this point, because I didn’t want to live the rest of my life stuck in the house. The process to obtain a medical marijuana card took about 3 months, but the card lasts for a year. I only have to do the paperwork every other year and see the doctor every eight months. I can purchase medical marijuana from a number of authorized retail stores close to my home.
