Trying to grow cannabis at home

Striking a balance between happiness and career is important.

Personally I feel that a happy home life is more important than making money at some job.

Without a job to pay the bills, it’s impossible to have a happy home life… unless you were born rich, or have a trust fund. I don’t have a trust fund, and I’ve never been rich, so I work as much as I need to in order to subsist and try to spend my free time pursuing my interests. I love to be artistic, including painting, drawing, and writing. I also love gardening, and growing cannabis plants in my garage. Botany has always been a hobby of mine since the summers of my youth, although back then I was not growing cannabis, just vegetables. Just to be clear, I don’t grow marijuana plants to sell weed, and I rarely even smoke the plants myself. Despite its reputation for being able to grow easily, I have found it remarkably difficult to grow high quality cannabis. Usually the marijuana I get from my plants is weak, full of seeds and stems, and doesn’t taste very good. Thankfully there is a mail-order cannabis dispensary that delivers to my house, so I don’t have to rely on the plants I grow. If I ever get rich the first thing I would do is quit my job and spend more time with my art and my cannabis plants. I have yet to produce a noteworthy crop of cannabis, but I will keep on trying until I get it right.

A fun and amazing weekend of booze, music, and cannabis

Once every few months my loving wife and I like to spend a weekend on the beach. No youngsters, no work, no outside interference at all! Just Jamie and me, on the sands, in the surf, and in a seaside hotel room. It’s a superb way to keep a marriage fresh and exciting. Whenever my pal and I go to the shore, my pal and I always eat superb food and drink way too much local beer. Normally my pal and I don’t get high, because of the youngsters and our tasks, however on these weekends my pal and I always visit a cannabis dispensary and load up on premium strains. The weekend is another way to relax and enjoy ourselves, so beer and cannabis are both key elements! My pal and I always rent a room overlooking the beach, or the water. My pal and I leave the balcony door open for the whole weekend, to air the room out of cannabis smoke. My pal and I also put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door, to keep the cleaning staff from messing with our marijuana. From there my pal and I start mixing up cocktails in the room, and smoking bowl after bowl of cannabis until my pal and I are nice and toasty. After that my pal and I hit the beach to get some sun. Since the room is always so close to my pal and I can pop back upstairs for more booze or cannabis whenever my pal and I start to sober up. Every day is nothing, however drinking, smoking marijuana, and bedding down my wife, so you can understand why I look forward to these weekends so much! When I finally retire I plan on smoking cannabis and getting blazed every single day as well.

I decided to leave cannabis to the professionals

I have no desire to grow my own cannabis.

I tried it once, while in the COVID lockdown, and I did not like the experience.

It was much more labor-intensive than I expected, and took a hefty investment of cash for the usual lighting and growing equipment. The results were a bit poor, and I got raggedy looking weed for all of my efforts. I realized that some things are best left to the professionals. I can make my own breakfast, however if I want superb biscuits and gravy I need to find a superb restaurant. If I want quality cannabis products, I need to stop wasting time at home and go to the local cannabis dispensary, however let the marijuana professionals handle it! You may not know this, however there is a crazy amount of math that goes into crafting the premium cannabis strains that my pal and I know and love. Some of these cannabis strains are decades old, and botanists keep perpetuating, cloning, and improving them. Purple Haze, Acapulco Gold, Mowie Wowie, and others were developed in the 50s and 60s, and my pal and I still smoke them this week. When I feel about all the math and history behind cannabis, I feel like an idiot for trying to grow scrub weed plants in buckets of dirt in my garage. I feel it’s superb that it is now legal for me to grow cannabis plants at home, because this is a right every person should have. But I would much rather buy my cannabis at the local dispensary (even if it is a little lavish) than try to grow it.

Should I simply sell the cannabis dispensary?

I acquired an enormous cash offer from a rival supplier that wants to buy my business.

I have to supply it a few afternoons and weigh my options, and of course I need to discuss it with Ed, my supplier partner.

Five years ago Ed and I started this shop, which has expanded and grown wildly since then. Weed is a major industry in this part of the country, and there is a lot of local competition for market share. One of these various competitors came to me with a big offer, a one-time cash payment to buy my cannabis dispensary and all the inventory. I won’t admit the exact sum of cash, however it’s enough that even when I split it with Ed, the co-owner of the cannabis store, it will be enough to live comfortably for the rest of my life. I did not open this cannabis dispensary looking for a sizable payoff, I just wanted a way to make a living. Over the last few years I have poured my heart and soul into this site, and helping patients with medical cannabis has been deeply rewarding. In other words, I don’t see the cannabis store as a task, it’s a calling. On the other hand, this rival cannabis supplier is offering a ludicrous amount of cash. If I wanted to I could take the cash, transport anywhere on the beach, and open a new cannabis dispensary! I enjoy my store, my employees, and my cannabis customers, so I am genuinely torn about what to do next. Do you have any real advice?

The cannabis dispensary is paying off as an investment

I could retire whenever I wanted to at this point, however even if I did I would still visit the cannabis dispensary every week just for fun

It has gotten to the point where I take a long weekend every single weekend! This is a stunning turn of events, because just three years ago I was toiling in a sales office for 60 to 68 hours a week! I was so tied up it was making me sick! Fate threw me a life preserver in the form of Ed, and his idea for a small local cannabis dispensary. I took a big risk in buying a 50% share of the business, however it has already paid off! I toil in the shop four afternoons a week, and the other three afternoons are spent at home, at the beach, or on the golf course. Ed only goes into the cannabis shop three afternoons a week, and that is just to go over the paperwork and file the new invoices. It took a lot of time, cash, and energy, however our little cannabis shop has grown beyond our wildest dreams. I could genuinely go there a little less if I wanted, however owning this cannabis store brings me nothing; however, delight and happiness, and I enjoy going to work! Sometimes I stop by the cannabis store even on my day off, just to chat with the customers or check up on the employees. The cannabis dispensary changed my life, and made me legitimately happy. I could retire whenever I wanted to at this point, however even if I did I would still visit the cannabis dispensary every week just for fun. It’s not even about cannabis, it’s about the people.

Hiring new employees for the great cannabis dispensary

Over the Last week I have been handling all of the new hires. This is a bit longer and more involved process than I imagined! When I was young and applied for a task, I had no clue there was so much paperwork and orange tape. I have scouted, interviewed, and hired four people in the last few weeks, as I try to build a solid team for my store. The cannabis dispensary needs a solid foundation of quality employees I can count on. Ed and I own the cannabis dispensary, however my pal and I are both getting on in years, and it would be nice to have competent staff to watch over the locale while my pal and I take it straight-forward! Ed has been handling the duties of a cannabis dispensary security guard lately, and I feel my pal and I need someone else for the task. My pal and I don’t really need a bouncer, however state cannabis regulations dictate that my pal and I check the ID of everyone who comes in the store, and refuse entry to underage people, or anyone separate from an ID. Ed is a 60 year outdated man, and it makes the cannabis dispensary look weak to have an outdated guy toiling security. I have been talking to a guy named Lance, who currently works as a bouncer for a nightclub, however would enjoy an occasion to toil in a cannabis dispensary. At the same time, I need to hire one or two more people to be cannabis delivery drivers for the shop. My pal and I don’t have enough right now, and I feel it’s costing us cash. My pal and I need more drivers to give more cannabis.

The early afternoons of my young cannabis dispensary

I became partners with Ed and bought a 50% share of a new cannabis dispensary. This was genuinely Ed’s brainchild, because he came up with the supplier plan, the location, and handled the financing. I had to buy in, of course, which took all the cash I had in the world, plus a little extra. Now the store is open to the public, Ed and I are the directors and (for now) the only full-time employees. In another six months my pal and I hope to have enough suppliers that my pal and I can hire a full team, and start offering cannabis house deliveries. In order to genuinely take off and start expanding, Ed and I have a plan in locale for hiring new cannabis dispensary employees. My pal and I need to start with another full-time budtender to train as a new director, however my pal and I also need a security guard for the front door, and a cannabis delivery driver. In time I feel my pal and I will need several cannabis delivery drivers, however my pal and I have to start with one… Right now Ed and I are doing everything, which is genuinely tiring and also means the cannabis store can’t stay open as long as my pal and I would like. Ed and I both have to be at the cannabis dispensary together all the time. One of us receives shipments of new cannabis products and enters them into inventory, while the other tends the shop and handles customers. Between simply filling the cannabis orders and handling the paperwork, my pal and I never have a moment to rest. But the profits are picking up, so I hope this is just temporary.

I took a risk on the young cannabis dispensary

Quitting my stuffy office task and taking a risk was the best choice I ever made.

I say that while completely penniless, and separate from my own home.

In order to invest in this supplier I needed to disinfect my bank accounts, my 401, my retirement fund, and also sell my house! It is still too early to start turning a profit, so I’m genuinely worried about what the future holds; and with all that said, it was still the best choice I ever made, because I finally feel alive again! When this cannabis dispensary takes off and starts generating major replacements, then I will be even happier. As it stands, my levels of anxiety and stress are so much lower than my new position in the cannabis dispensary might have added years onto my life. They say stress is a serious killer, however my new task has zero stress. Not because I smoke cannabis all day, either. Of course I enjoy smoking marijuana to relax, although I don’t do that at work. I try to remain professional, and remember that many of my customers rely on medical cannabis to help their physical and mental ailments. I smoke cannabis for fun, however these people need it for their health and sanity! This is another reason I enjoy toiling at the cannabis dispensary, because I have a direct impact on people and their lives, which makes me feel superb about myself. At my outdated task I wasn’t making a difference I was just making cash, however at the cannabis dispensary I am helping people! Although I hope to also make cash one day.

I was trying to get into the cannabis industry

I had been so unhappy and tied up with my task, it was making me physically ill.

Even scarier, I was starting to get bouts of anxiety and depression, and no task is worth that, even if the pay is excellent! Over the weekend I was busy hanging out with Ed, my outdated neighbor from university.

As usual, my pal and I were getting high and talking about life. I told him about my issues, and how I needed to find a new task, and Ed came back at me with a genuinely interesting proposition. Ed was setting up a supplier plan to open his own local cannabis dispensary, and he decided to let me be his partner. This was not a small thing, either, because I would need to invest every penny I had, and then a little bit more, if I wanted to actually own a piece of this cannabis dispensary. Once the cannabis shop was open, Ed and I would have to do all the toil until my pal and I started turning a profit and could afford to hire a staff. It was a big risk, although I knew the cannabis industry was genuinely profitable as of late, so I felt it was an occasion worth taking; and despite the added financial stress, I came to see that toiling in a cannabis dispensary lowered my levels of stress and anxiety. Even if I didn’t get rich, I could see myself toiling in the cannabis shop and being enthusiastic there. I will write another blog soon about the next step in the development of my cannabis dispensary, it’s been another exciting ride!

On the road looking for superb cannabis these days

23 years ago, right after I graduated from university, I took an excursion to Europe and spent some time in Amsterdam.

It was also a life changing period in time for me, however eventually I had to go back home, get a task, and start leading a normal life, but I never forgot my time overseas, and yearned for a straight-forwardr kind of lifestyle.

It took 22 years to achieve my goals, however finally I can take an early retirement, and get back to the life I have always wanted to live. I was quickly selling my house, cashing in my 401k, and buying an RV camper and a couple years worth of cannabis products. My goal is to hit the open road, traveling this superb country and going to see every state that has legal cannabis. I have my own marijuana supply on-hand so I can be stoned for the entire journey, and never have to worry about keeping a timetable of any kind. I don’t want you to feel that my entire life revolves around cannabis, because it doesn’t. As I finally travel the land I am looking for more than quality marijuana, I also look for local indigenous artwork. I listen to local bands play music, and visit local restaurants to sample the cuisine. I lead a life of excess and hedonism in every possible way, however always with a gentle background of cannabis smoke, cannabis makes me happy, it keeps me relaxed, and helps me get the most out of life. If I actually knew life could be this much fun I would have retired a long time ago.
