Tips are better when it rains

A lot of delivery drivers don’t like to go outside when it rains.

I don’t mind delivering during the rain, and I think the tips are better.

When it’s raining, the store is always busier. On an average night, I usually deliver six or seven different cannabis orders. On a night when it is raining, I usually work extra hours and take 10 or 12 deliveries. I think the tips are a lot better when it rains. Customers feel bad that I had to drive in the rain. An average $5 tip is usually a $10 tip. Some of my coworkers don’t agree, but I’ve seen the proof on more than one occasion. Last Friday night it was raining very hard and I was scheduled to work from 6 until close. Someone called out for their shift and the boss asked me to come in at 4. I had three cannabis orders waiting when I arrived. I wasted no time getting the order out to the proper addresses. I made $26 on all three orders. It started raining even harder when I left the store with the second set of cannabis orders. I had four, but two of them were going to the same apartment building. When I was finished delivering all of those orders, it was only half past 6 and I already had 50 bucks in my pocket. By the end of my shift, I had enough money to pay my rent for the week. My roommate was awfully surprised when I presented him with the cash early. Usually I take it down to the wire and pay at the last minute.
