My dad didn't think it was a good idea

No one in my house thought it was a good idea, but I still got a prescription from the doctor

I went to a rehab facility three different times before I finally kicked alcohol. I started drinking when I was 14 years old. My friends and I stole beers from the bar on the corner. I was drinking everyday when I was a senior in high school. I didn’t realize I was an alcoholic back then, but that behavior was the start of all of my problems. I flunked out of college because I was late for class, missing exams, and getting into fights with my teachers. After I left school, I went back home to live with my mom and dad. My dad wanted me to work with him, but I did not want to spend my life working as a plumber. My mom took me to a therapist and my parents insisted that I speak with someone weekly if I wanted to continue living in the house for free. It only took a few visits before the therapist realized that a lot of my issues we’re due to severe depression. The therapist suggested taking an antidepressant that would boost my serotonin levels and she also suggested using medical marijuana. When I told my parents that the therapist suggested medical marijuana, they were completely horrified. My mom called the therapist a quack. No one in my house thought it was a good idea, but I still got a prescription from the doctor. After three months of daily cannabis use, I feel motivated and full of energy. I actually feel like plumbing with my dad might be the career I choose.
