Everything was so expensive.

I guess I had thought that when I went to a marijuana dispensary, it was going to be like going to a regular pharmacy.

When I was told I had to speak to a pharmacist, I thought it was because the doctor had sent a prescription telling them what I could and could not use.

Instead, the pharmacist told me what products she felt I should try first but that I could purchase anything in the store that I wanted and in any amount. First off, after seeing many of the prices, I knew I could not afford very much. I had already talked to the pharmacist and asked if my insurance would cover any of the marijuana products. She told me that since marijuana was not yet considered a medical drug, insurance was not yet willing to help pay for the marijuana products, and $65 for one small vial of tincture was more than I could afford. If it hadn’t been for the 20% off for first-time buyers, I could not have afforded anything that was in that marijuana dispensary. I ended up purchasing a small bottle of pain lotion and some capsules that were mostly CBD. Although it was a bit more than I planned on spending, the hope of the lotion and capsules helping with my swollen joints made me feel okay about spending it. I don’t think I’ll be coming back to a marijuana dispensary anytime ‌soon. Everything was too expensive. I just hope the marijuana products I picked up will make me feel better about making such an expensive purchase. If not, I won’t be returning to the marijuana dispensary.
