I thought this cannabis dispensary would be a lot easier.

I can’t say why, however I thought opening a cannabis dispensary was going to be easy.

I thought my parent corporation would do all my hiring, training, & manage the online presence.

As the acting supervisor, I had to get my training completed, hire & train my employees, manage the online presence, & take care of the inventory. I had just walked into a task I wasn’t sure I could handle. I had several interviews with a supervisor named Ed from the parent dealer, & he had confidence in me. I told him I thought I had bitten off more than I could chew, but Ed told me to have faith in myself. I had managed to open, hire, & train everyone for several fast food chain restaurants. The cannabis dispensary was no different than fast food, except for a few different laws & inventory. It was a challenge he knew I was up to. Ed showed me where all the information was in questions to ask when hiring, what kind & how much inventory I needed, & even in training. Ed also handed me the booklet that talked about which online marketing companies I could call to get my new website up & running & to do my marketing, and since the parent corporation paid for all the marketing & web development if I used one of these online marketing companies, I knew I was going to be okay. I wished Ed had given me the books before I got myself into a tizzy about managing a cannabis dispensary. I would already gotten the website development underway, & looking at a cannabis dispensary expert to do all the marketing & pre-marketing to let people know there was a brand new cannabis dispensary coming to the area.
